Have you ever wondered how many times you can actually damn someone to hell before it either happens immediately (with them bursting into flames – disintegrating right before your eyes) or it backfires and you find yourself in the middle of nowhere drinking a nice hot bowl of ice cream?
Me neither…but I can tell you that it’s only been 3 weeks since I’ve re-entered the workforce and I promise you, I have secretly banished my old/new boss at least 100 times within the last 20 days.
That’s a startling number.
At least five times a day; not to mention times when I find myself wondering…what in the hell did I get myself back into, and then other times when I simply want to punch both us in the face – in no particular order of course.
When I was offered the opportunity to work from home I weighed all the pros and cons. Eventually, the pros outweighed the cons and I accepted. I figured I would be able to make a decent living without disrupting my daily schedule.
While this is still probably true, in fact it is true, I have yet to find my rhythm. I’m ritualistic. I am a methodical person. If you know me you know that. All I can say is this job has completely thrown off my chi.
I’ve gone from working out 5 days a week; at least an hour a day, to the point where I can’t remember when I last exercised. Judging by the laundry, it’s been a few weeks. While I’m loving the extra money, who wouldn’t; but I ‘ve been so busy that I’m forgetting to pay bills. Although it needs to be done, and it was on the schedule, don’t get me wrong I’m not mad about it; but spring cleaning has passed me by.
Surprisingly, for the second year in a row, I forgot my blog’s birthday. Last year it snuck up on me, but this time, I knew it was coming up and the next thing I remember it had passed. April 22 I’m Just Sayin’…(Damn!) turned 2 years old.
No excuses. There’s no time for feelings. I need to set a blog schedule and an official “work” schedule. If not, I know I will find myself working all the time – the beauty of working from home. Without a balance… there is no balance.
I’ve already decided that I’m not going to force the situation. It either works for me or I don’t work at all. Therefore, aside from a few things that NEED to be purchased, and a few things I WANT to buy – I’m sticking to the status quo. Like the saying goes, If it ain’t broke – don’t fix it.
I’m Just Sayin’…(Damn!)
