Well at least mine does. However, this wasn’t always the case. There once was a time, which at this point it seems like eons ago, that my laptop provided a way for me to unwind, to mindlessly surf the internet, online shop, research meaningful and numerous useless topics and believe it or not it also connected me to the blogosphere. Rumor has it, I used to actively update and write original content on this blog.
I promised myself when I went back to work I wouldn’t let anyone or anything steal my thunder, but that’s exactly what happened.
I’ve been working from home now for approximately eight months and what once was a tool of leisure has now become my nemesis. I absolutely hate the damn thing (laptop). I thought the whole work from home gig would be golden. Trust me it isn’t bad, but after spending 8 to 10 hours on a laptop – 5 days a week, it’s the last thing I want to curl up in bed with.
My laptop never says, “Jae, take a break – relax.” No. My laptop screams, “WORK!” And when I shut that bitch down, I don’t want to be anywhere near a LED, LCD screen. These feelings of anger and the inability to separate church from state have caused my blog to suffer. After many minutes of contemplation, I found some possible solutions.
- Quit my job in order to save my blog
- Buy a tablet
- Buy a 2 in 1 tablet computer
As irritating and time consuming as my work may be, it is a cake job that pays well. Based on the fact that I don’t have a money tree growing in my backyard, option 1 really isn’t an option.
Buy a tablet. If a laptop screams work, I assume that a tablet yells, “Let’s play!”. I don’t mind playing, but I want the ability to run Windows and I can’t imagine typing a 400 word blog post using a touchscreen. I need a physical keyboard. So option 2 wasn’t ideal.
While out shopping at Best Buy for the Windows Surface Pro 2, I stumbled across the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 With Windows.
The price was right and it has all the versatility of a tablet and the functionality (dare I say the word) of a laptop.
I have high hopes for this 2 in 1. For me, it’s more than a 2 in 1, it’s a game changer, it’s a miracle and it needs to save my blog. I’m currently using it to write my final post for 2014 and plan to use it to write all future posts in 2015. It looks like a tablet. It feels like a tablet but when it’s all said and done, it needs to act like a laptop.
I’m Just Sayin’…(Damn!)
